‘Who and what has gone missing in Uganda?

Since we became a country, missing persons and missing files/information have shaped how we have access to our history, to our national identity, ourselves as people. Karis Upton has been studying the remianing “migrated” ‘Uganda Pre- Independence’ and ‘Operation Legacy’ records from the British National Archive.

She is using these as jumping-off points to create and short film and installation which looks at absence, the psychological effects of loss, recovering cultural and personal histories and the importance of accessible ‘records of truth’ for collective memories and future generations.’
